Everyone was “abuzz” about the recent Ladies’ Day Event

[SinglePic not found]Everyone was “abuzz” about the recent Ladies’ Day Event, and no wonder since it included some very amusing skits, such as the one presented by Julie Craig, Linda Wheeler, and Nancy Mitchell dressed as bees.  They very effectively reminded us of how we should react to those who are lacking spiritual health.  Too often we shun them for fear of “catching” some of the spiritual problems that afflict them.  Instead we should reach out and help them toward spiritual wholeness and health.  Well done, ladies. You proved that you don’t have to hit someone over the head to get your point across.  A lighter, softer approach can be just as, or even more, effective.

Nancee Bryant proved her spiritual GPS is working by writing a skit, which she also acted in along with Dawn Mitchell and Gloria Greene.  The scenario of two Christian women who’s spiritual GPS’s were experiencing technical difficulties reminded us of some potential pitfalls, such as complaining and gossiping.  Fortunately, with some well timed interventions of appropriate scriptural reminders they finally got back on course.  At which point, Hilda Hollandsworth was so moved she spontaneously responded with a resounding chorus of Hallelujah.

We had a wonderful keynote speaker, who enthusiastically encouraged us to move beyond the walls of the church building to fulfill the mission God has given us to serve and teach.  Indeed that was the message of the whole day, “God’s People Serve”.

The numerous women, and some of the men as well, were teaching by example as they worked tirelessly to make this event a success.  On behalf of all who attended and were uplifted by your efforts I would like to say a huge well done and an even bigger thank you.  A special thank you to Georgia Jeffers and Hilda Hollandsworth for organizing and making the day possible.
